Hot water from the heat pump goes to either the top or lower section of the thermal store via a diverter valve. The thermal store is also heated by solar panels. The underfloor heating zone is supplied from the thermal store, rather than from the heat pump. The temperature of the water entering the UFH zone is regulated by a thermostatic mixing valve. Water returning from the UFH zone is directed back into either the thermal store or the heat pump depending on the function of the heat pump and the position of the return diverter valve.
