How underfloor heating is applied between the joists of a suspended timber floor.

This project was already at an advanced stage when we were consulted about the heating. In a suspended timber floor construction the pipes would normally be fitted on top of the joists but on this occasion the timber frame had already been erected and the heights were fixed. However, we devised a method whereby the pipes could be laid between the joists on trays. The project's joiner fitted the trays and our installer notched the joists to allow the pipe to be passed between the spaces.
